Did You Know That Being A "Yes Person" Is Associated With Illness?

Studies have shown that trying to please everyone all the time is related to chronic illness.

By continuously saying “yes” to others, you are saying “no” to yourself. In doing so, you are suppressing your own emotions, needs, opinions, and desires, in order to please the other person. Suppressing our emotions, and not expressing how we feel, decreases the effectiveness of our immune system and makes us sick.

Instead, begin to be true to yourself and express your feelings.

Set healthy boundaries for the people around you.

Feel comfortable to say “no” to the things you don’t want to do or be a part of.

This will prevent you from having feelings of anger and resentment later, which will ultimately improve your relationships.

And if not, they were not your true friends/partners to begin with.
